Affordable & Easy Tips to Manage Acne

To help manage your acne during your teen, high school or student years, here are some easy and affordable tips and products that I wish I knew about when I was in highschool. I hope they come to great use for you as much as they did for me. If you have any questions, be sure to ask in the comments section and I'll do my best to get back to you.
  • Wash and change your pillow case and towel every week. It is amazing how this tip can help, since our faces come in contact with these items the most at home oil gets transferred onto them so be sure to use clean pillows and towels.
  • Don't touch your face during the day.
  • Cleanse, tone, moisturise your face once in the morning and once in the night
    • Cleanse your face to get rid of excess dirt and oil. You don't need to spend to much money on a cleanser as it will be on your face for less than a minute.
    • Apply toner on your face, it will tighten your skin and close your pores to prevent oil or makeup from clogging your pores.
    • Moisturise, after any type of cleansing your face needs something soothing, it will also provide an extra layer for your makeup to glide on easily. I like using Biore Nourish Moisture Lotion containing SPF 15. It will lightly nourish your skin and is not over bearing. It smells really lovely, fresh, and lightly fruity. Costs around $11.
  • Use a scrub once or twice a week. A scrub will gently exfoliate dry skin, wash off excess oil and unclog pores before they can turn into pimples.
  • Use a face mask every one and a half weeks. A face mask will revitalise and soothe your skin, once the mask dries it will soak up any excess oil that cleansers and scrubs can not reach.
    • I recommend Garnier 3-in-1 (Wash-Scrub-Mask); I reviewed this multi-functional product back in 2012. After I used it as a mask I stated "Garnier's Pure 3-in-1 made my skin glow, it greatly reduced my pores, made my skin much softer, exfoliated my skin, it made my skin-tone look even, it moisturised my skin and made my skin appear much younger!". It will last for almost a year, and costs around $12.
  • Blot your skin with a tissue during the day to get rid of excess oil.
  • Drink the recommend six to eight cups of water a day.
The products mentioned can normally be found in Coles, Woolworths, Franklins or Priceline
